I've been having really terrible insomnia for the past week constantly. I'm tempted to start downing benedril before bed. Should I see a doctor of just self medicate?

The computer parts came in. Everything except the ram, so I got a couple sticks to use temporarily. For the curious, it's a 2.6 Ghz dual core processor, soon to be 1 gig of ram and an onboard GeForce 6 until I get an actual video card. I'll probably put it on my birthday/christmas list along with another gig of ram or something along those lines.

In other news, I'm already fucking sold on this game:

Jeeze, it looks like my computer may have finally given up. I've been running hardware tests on it all night and nothing really shows anything useful. The motherboard is ancient and so is the processor, so I guess I got enough use out of it, but I don't know if I have the budget for another one. Certainly not as good as the one I had, despite it's age. This laptop is going to piss me off if I have to continue to use it, the slow sack of shit.

Edit: Power supply is borked. That might be the only issue.

I just had my ears irrigated. An ear infection had been bothering me so I went in to have it looked at and they decided a cleaning was in order. Holy shit, you should have seen the amount of wax built up over 21 years. I never knew how many little sounds the world made until now. Everything is jumping out at me right now. That's really all I have to say. Guys with a 360, you should all play Braid. At the very least, download the trial. Best $15 you will ever spend.

Saturday Ninnin picked me up and brought me over to Raz's place. We left pretty soon to go eat and head to a bar called The Royale for the shirt.woot birthday party. The internet was there and it was pretty cool. We all got a special shirt for showing up (black with gold lines of the bag graphic). There was also an analog shirt contest, which Razerz, Gekko and Ninz entered. ( Which leads us to a cut. )

I'm going to throw together the weekend and a couple random thoughts into this one:

the 4th was not too bad, even though I wasn't able to hit it up with Razerz and Gekko. Me, Zach and Veo went to see the fireworks at a local park, which were alright. Nothing much else for that day. The 5th, I went to Veo's again to eat some BBQ kabobs and later shopped for some discount fireworks. I didn't shoot any off though, so I have a small amount of explosives stocked up for whenever I feel the need to blow shit up. Later that night I got randomly invited to a party by a co-worker. It was pretty cool, met a few new people (one of them recognized me from the internet) and generally had a good time. Got some good sleep and on sunday nothing worth mentioning happened.

Guys, you really have to give a good handshake if you want to make a good impression on people. I'm serious, the handshake is one of the first things people are going to experience with you and you're probably not going to get a second chance at it. How often do you shake someone's hand after you've already been established as acquaintances? You really have to put some feeling into it, none of that limp wrist bullshit. Grab the other person's hand firmly and give it a good shake. Some people might not notice a weak handshake, but everyone will see a good one when you can give it, and that will only put you a step ahead of everyone else.

I think that when I'm done with school I want to move east. I'm not sure what sounds so appealing about it, but I know I want to get out of Missouri at the very least.

oh, and to whom it may concern, I'm finally getting around to making those little dancing characters I promised a year ago. I might do one or two more for random people if I'm not tearing my hair out after the ones I promised.

I thought there was something else, but it's not coming to me right now. I'm off to play IIDX.

edit: oh yeah, Penny-arcade, what the hell are you doing? Paint the line isn't funny or entertaining at all. There better be a massive, throbbing punchline oozing all over the end of whatever the hell you've come up with.

It was a pretty bitching time last weekend. Ninnin picked me up and we headed over to see Razerz and Gekko. We at some bagels and I put something in my mouth for a dollar. Coffee night was small and so-so. I also finally got to give Razerz her pictures I drew a while ago and she started to ink mine. Sweet. Razerz had to work the next day so Gekko, Ninz and I went around town to eat and shop. At the comic shop they were selling boxes of 50 assorted comics for 13 dollars, so me and Ninz picked up a copy and had a comic battle back at the house to see who had the best loot. Both were about the same though. We had a lot of duplicates and they seemed to all be from the beginning of the alphabet, so if this happens again we need to not grab boxes that are stacked together on the shelf. Also we need to get there earlier before all the mature comics boxes are sold. ANYWAY.
For those curious who don't know, I'll be showing up at MFM, and it's looking likely that I'll also be at MFF. I just gotta talk to one or two dudes and it will be set.

Statistics is going to be a breeze. I'm also taking the easy version of it, which is nice. I also had yet another interview last friday morning, where it seemed like I got a job that time, but then Zach tells me that it's a two week temporary position. Every time I go through this whole job process I'm in a bad mood for a while. I really just want to stop trying now to avoid all of the stress.
I bought a bookshelf. Now I have a place to store some more shit. That's the end of that story.

let me see here, it's been a couple weeks I believe. The only thing really worth mentioning is the most recent weekend, so I'll talk about that. Friday night I went to see razerz. We hung out for a while, just being awesome like usual before David came over and we all went down to coffee night. It's been forever since last was there and there were some cool new people that I talked to and had a good time with. Two long time buddies came to visit from out of town as well, fynath
and fwee. Fwee was kind enough to loan me Bone, which I have been wanting to read forever, and Fynath lent me Dead Rising, which I equally have been wanting to play. They spent the weekend with me and Zachbutt, watching movies, playing games, etc. We saw Feast, The Last Man on Earth (the first "I Am Legend" with Vincent Price, who owns every last actor ever.) and Return to Oz. Not a bad time at all. Later, after fwee and fyn left, me and zach saw Love! Valour! Compassion! with another dude. It was alright, I think I would have enjoyed it if I was a woman. I think that when women think about gay men, these 8 guys are what they fantasize. Meanwhile, Zach drives stick (me to a lesser extent) and we constantly insult each other and know how to use firearms. Sorry girls, that's just not how it is. um, what else. Oh, school started. Turns out the book my roommate gave me is the completely wrong one and the one at the library is an ancient edition, so I have to buy it after all. I'll do that tomorrow.

Drawing a bit more lately. I'm starting to get satisfied with what I've come out with, though it's only been two things. I'll be sure to work on stuff more often. I also want to be good at piano. Yes, still, and I'm still not doing anything about it. One thing at a time, though. Anyway, if any of you guys have an idea for something for me to draw, please shoot. Even if you don't know me that well, because chances are I want to get to know you better anyway. I do a better job when I have an actual goal in mind instead of random shit. Please, any non fettish ideas are welcome. Not that I would expect anyone to come to me to draw out their fantisies, but still. yeah, I'm going to shut up now.

About two weeks ago I went in for two interviews for computer related jobs. I didn’t get the first one, but they sent my resume to the second place and I finally got hold of the lady’s email so I could ask her about it. I kind of figured by now, but I didn’t get the position, despite what Zach’s boss thought. Fuck. So I just spent the day at work dorking around with a cool co-worker and ended up playing uno for an hour with the supervisor on duty and her. Really good time actually and it kept my mind off of the whole job situation, which seems to be bugging me a lot now. I came home and played through a Direct Assault in RezHD, which I have declared to be “me time”, and not just because of the common name thing. That game is seriously one of the most relaxing things I have spent my time doing. Just sitting there listening and feeling the music, it’s great. I actually forgot why I decided I needed to relax until I decided to make this entry about it.
I’ve been trying to draw again as of late. It hasn’t really been working, but I guess I’m improving. I don’t really know, it’s hard to tell with stuff like this where it’s subtle and takes a great deal of time. There’s so much I want to make progress on this summer, but unless I can get myself motivated it’s not going to happen. oh well.

In non-picture related news, I had two interviews during finals week, one went horribly and the other not so much. I’m told that I got the job by my roommie, though I have yet to hear anything official, so I have no idea what’s going on. I’ll have to email the guy I talked to soon if I continue to not hear anything.

Last weekend was pretty sweet. I got to hang out with razerz finally, and give her back her spike she got from gekko when I found in my car so many years months ago. Enjoyed hanging out with her thoroughly for various reasons. Hopefully we get to have another night like that again. Sunday was my grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary. There were a lot of old people and it was somewhat boring being surrounded by so many people of the crescent fresh variety.
That’s pretty much the end of that for now. There is more but I don’t need to bother most of you with it. Also, I’ll be at MFM, yo.

I had an 8 am calc 3 final today, goddamn I hate the math department. What I was really nervous about was the interview afterwards, though. Some desktop support computer people on campus. All I have left now is a tiny little project to do for one of my classes by the end of the week and a couple more days of working a the library, then I'm coming back to town on friday. Razerz, let's do something. I miss you. I still have your spike, too. I'll be sure to bring it with me.

Selling text books is also cool. Now excuse me while I go pass out and cry.

Yeah, updates have been scarce lately. I keep thinking that everything I do is pretty boring/only entertaining to me so I usually skip 'em. Would you guys want me to update more often like I used to or is it better that I clutter your friends entries as little as possible like I do now?

In normal update news, a week and a half of school left. I've been playing Armored Core 4 and The World Ends With You lately and having tons of fun with both. TWEWY is probably the most complicated RPG I've ever played ever, but some elements in it I just find really awesome, like the ability to temporarily lower your level so that enemies drop items more often. It really makes hunting for specific gear/money that much easier. Armored Core 4 is great if you like the customization process for your character (a giant robot). If you get really into it you can easily spend an hour just tweaking your machine to maximize it's destructive potential.

anyway, I should be tired.

I just got my car back from the shop. It was leaking anti-freeze onto the floor of the car and needed a new heater core. Total came to $228, which is a good deal less than the $280 I thought I heard him say over the phone. I'm really hoping it runs well for a while longer. I can't go spending money on her every weekend.

1. The library is pretty creepy at night when you're closing everything down. The other day the radio station on the lower floor was set to auto shut down at whatever time. When I was closing all the doors down there this creepy music was playing and I was all *@..@* and got the fuck out of there. Also, when I go to turn out one of the bathroom lights, I keep imagining there's going to be this bloody dead body sitting on the toilet when I open the door.
2. Last Tuesday I went to student health and gave some blood for testing. I got the results today. They tested me for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV. Negative for all of them. Woo.
3. I got my tax return today. $159. It's not much but I'm still excited.
4. I have so much more trouble in my english class than I've ever had in a math class. I will never be able to write a good research paper.
5. I broke down a little while back and bought a 360 with the massive amount of gift cards I received over the Christmas holiday. My name is Rez Draggin if anyone who doesn't know yet is interested.

It's really hard to drive somewhere (school, for example) when your car heater doesn't work and layers of ice are constantly building up on the windshield.

What is it about thunderstorms that make me feel so good?

-working harder in school this semester. Gonna get better grades and actually apply myself
-need to get a resume together so I can get a new job/internship in the summer.
-going to try to hit up a con or two (probably just one). Gonna talk to my peeps later on about that (see: when I remember).
-Mordy bought me an SA account over the weekend. Ain’t he sweet. A very informative place, believe it or not.

It appears that I get paid next week as opposed to this one. Ain't that just great.
I hear that the computer people are hiring again, and this time they're looking for a lot of people. I'll probably give that another shot because I hear they pay better than the library gig. I'd also get to work with computers.
I've also started reading Hellboy. Good ol' fashioned paranormal nazi plot. I also noticed it's by the same guy who did The Amazing Screw-On Head, which you should all go out and read/watch. There's only one issue/episode so it's not too much time out of your life.
I'm currently unsure of my weekend plans. Somebody please fix this.
